Samsung Launches Galaxy S6 Active

After a number of rumors, leaks and unofficial listings, Samsung has finally made it official; the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active is now available in the US on AT&T. Starting from June 12th, people will be able to purchase the smartphone from the AT&T website and also its physical store. The South Korean smartphone giant hasn’t revealed the device as yet, but it has provided the installment details of the S6 Active; it will be available for $0 down payment from AT&T Next with 30 device payments on Next 24 for $23.17 per month, 24 months payments for $28.96 per month on Next 18 and 20 payments for $34.75 per month on Next 12.

Apart from that, the Galaxy S6 Active can also be purchased from on-site shops at the soon-to-happen Reebok Spartan Race events. Samsung hasn’t provided any details about the availability of the smartphone other than the US. Also, a limited time offer is also available where a couple of deals are provided to customers who are interested in buying the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. Along with the phone, buyers can also get the Galaxy Tab 4.8.0 with a two-year agreement. There is also the option of purchasing the Samsung Wireless Charging pad for half the price with Next or a two-year contract.

The features of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active are similar to the original flagship smartphone, but the ratings make the device water resistance. It can be functional in 1.5 meters for half an hour. In addition, the phone is shock resistant and dust proof. It also meets the standards for withstanding temperature extremes, high altitude, vibration and humidity. But, as expected, the smartphone misses out on the fingerprint sensor, which is offered at the home button of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

The Galaxy S6 Active has a 5.1 inch Quad HD and Super Amoled Display that has a pixel density of 577ppi. It boasts an octa-core 64-bit processor and runs on the Android 5.02 Lollipop. There is a front camera of 5 mega-pixel and a rear camera of 16 mega-pixel and also an LED flash. Although, the South Korean firm hasn’t said anything, it is understood that this one also boasts a slew of camera features like tracking AF, quick launch, low light video, auto real-time, virtual shot, fast motion, slow motion, high clear zoom, selective focus and pro mode as they are also found in the flagship Samsung Galaxy S6. It will also have 32 GB of built-in storage.

There is a 3500mAh battery and also wireless charging provided in the Samsung Galaxy S6 Active. There is also an Ultra Power Saving charging mode and the Samsung Knox security framework is also pre-installed in the device. Some other features that have been included are a flashlight, quick launching compass and stopwatch amongst others. Basically, Samsung has said that this phone provides customers with all the benefits of the high-performance flagship device, but in a more durable and rugged casing.
